More EV Charging Stations Coming to North America
Charging your EV is about to get a whole lot more convenient. Seven automakers have united to produce a new electric vehicle charging network across North America, offering an elevated charging experience to boost EV ownership and usher us into the next era of automobiles. If you drive an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid around Bellingham and the rest of the Seattle area, you’ve probably already noticed several charging stations to power up your ride. However, charging on your travels outside the area isn’t always as easy. That’s why Stellantis, along with six other vehicle producers, have taken on the ambitious task of adding another 30,000 stations to the existing network.
Charging Toward the Future
More customers are turning to plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles – a trend we’ve noticed here at Rairdon’s of Bellingham. Models like the Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid and Jeep Wrangler 4xe are more in-demand than ever. That’s why it’s so exciting to see automakers come together to give customers what they need: a high-powered, accessible charging network that spans North America. Along with Stellantis, the BMW Group, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, and Mercedes-Benz Group are forming a collaborative charging network across our highways and urban centers. The charging stations will be conveniently located near food, shopping, and entertainment, making the wait more enjoyable. Some stations will even be specially equipped with their own amenities. They will also use only renewable energy sources to power the stations, further reducing the environmental impact of EV charging and boosting all seven automakers’ sustainability efforts.
Anyone with a battery electric vehicle can access the charging stations, as long as their vehicle uses the Combined Charging System or North American Charging Standard. Finding these new charging stations is easy through the Uconnect 5, which allows you to use navigation to plan your trip and find the most conveniently located stations along your route. You can expect to see these new charging stations popping up around the country early next year.
