Dodge, Chrysler Dominate 2023 TAWA Auto Roundup

2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost Logo

March’s Texas Automotive Writers Association Auto Roundup sent multiple Dodge and Chrysler vehicles home with several awards and honors, including two models being named vehicles of Texas in their respective categories. As one of the most reputable and respected automotive press organizations, TAWA takes their job seriously by putting vehicles to the test each year. TAWA press members met up at Eagles Canyon Raceway of Decatur, Texas for the two-day competition that ended in awards for three Dodge and Chrysler vehicles.

Which vehicles earned 2023 TAWA Awards?

Dodge and Chrysler showed their versatility at the TAWA Auto Roundup with wins in three different vehicle categories. Each model brings something different to the table, but they all have one thing in common: they’re all winners.

Dodge Hornet

The real standout is the all-new Dodge Hornet, the first electric performance vehicle from Dodge. Arriving at Rairdon’s of Bellingham this summer, the Hornet made one of the most exciting showings at the roundup. The brand’s newest addition earned multiple awards: Best New Interior, Best Value, Best New Feature, and the title of Crossover Utility Vehicle of Texas. Judges agreed that the PowerShot feature was the greatest new addition, offering a 30-horsepower burst on Hornet R/T models.

Dodge Challenger SRT Black Ghost

Earning the honor of Performance Vehicle of Texas at the 2023 Auto Roundup. The 807-horsepower “Last Call” model channels the classic muscle car of the 1970s with modern performance and features. One of just 300 models made, the Challenger SRT Black Ghost includes a massive HEMI engine, black and chrome exterior with black “gator skin” details, and a Widebody build.

Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid

Surprising no one, the Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid continued its streak of wins for the seventh year in a row in the Minivan category. It’s the first and only plug-in hybrid in its segment, achieving a Best-in-Class combined 82 MPG. It has the most safety and security features in its class, combined with superior comfort and convenience. These features and more earned the Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid over 170 awards over the last six years, making it the most awarded minivan in the industry.
