2023 Dodge Hornet GLH Concept Upgraded Features & Design

The Dodge brand has a storied legacy of providing special edition models for its vehicles, and it’s already showing signs of following suit with its brand-new crossover. The 2023 Dodge Hornet marks the beginning for this new model, but where will it go from there? One possibility was teased back when the vehicle was first unveiled in the form of the Dodge Hornet GT GLH Concept. Is it possible that this concept car will be turned into a production option for the 2024 Hornet R/T as well? It remains to be seen at this point in time, but we thought we’d dive into the upgraded features & design cues of the GLH Concept anyways to show you how awesome it could be.

Dodge Hornet GT GLH Concept

When it was unveiled late last year, this concept vehicle featured exclusive graphics, stripes, logos and badging that paid homage to the legendary Dodge Omni GLH of the 1980s. In addition to providing a better power-to-weight ratio than the standard Hornet GT, the GLH Concept features a breadth of Direct Connection upgrades.

These upgrades include a stage kit that provides stackable performance upgrades, a suspension lowering kit, an unrestricted dual exhaust system, exclusive 20” painted and machine-faced wheels, black-painted lower trim featuring an exhaust cutout on the rear fascia and the aforementioned exclusive graphics. Thanks to the lowered suspension, which lowers the vehicle’s ride height by more than an inch, the vehicle also has a lower center of gravity which enhances the dynamics of cornering in the vehicle. That exhaust system also features black chrome tips and helps to provide the throaty growl one would expect from such a performance beast.

What is Direct Connection?

Direct Connection is the Dodge brand’s performance parts company, which provides all kinds of stuff like this – especially in special edition packages. These parts are available exclusively at Dodge Power Broker dealers, and having them installed by the dealer keeps your warrant intact. The GLH Concept is just one example of what’s possible with Direct Connection content, which will be available in both the Hornet GT and R/T.

Although Dodge only revealed a Hornet GT GLH Concept vehicle, a lot of enthusiasts are hopeful and speculating not only that the concept will become a production model, but that an R/T GLH will also become a thing. Considering that Direct Connection content will be available on both the GT and R/T, there is certainly some credence to that line of thinking. Could there be a 2024 Dodge Hornet R/T GLH?
