Dodge and Ram Come Out on Top in J.D. Power APEAL Study

For the fifth year in a row, both Dodge and Ram have dominated in mass-market brand ratings according to J.D. Power’s APEAL Study. Earning the top two spots in the rankings, the brands broke their own records. Customer satisfaction has always been a top priority for Ram and Dodge, and this year’s studies have shown that the history of making trucks that their customers want is proof.

What is the APEAL Study?

The Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout Study is a consumer study done by J.D. Power, measuring customer feedback on various current model year attributes. Consumers rate vehicles on fuel efficiency, features, styling, and exterior, among other things – all rated within the first 3 months of owning the vehicle. Where many other brands show a downward trend, Ram and Dodge stood out by actually improving in customer ratings over the last several years.

Dodge

This is the fourth year in a row for Dodge’s placement at the top of mass-market brands. It’s the only domestic brand ever to achieve such a status by ranking first in the APEAL Study. The unprecedented win comes after Dodge’s first place rankings in Initial Quality Study, making it the only brand to ever place first in both studies in the same year. Dodge improved over last year’s placing by 5 points.

Within the segment portion of the study, one Dodge came out ahead of the pack. The 2023 Dodge Challenger earned first place in the midsize sporty vehicle segment, earning the title by impressing drivers with its power, performance, and style.

Ram

Ram continues to take note of its customer satisfaction with a 10-point jump over last year’s rankings. Winning a spot on the podium in the large light-duty pickup segment is the 2023 Ram 1500, a fan favorite among everyday drivers and commercial customers alike.

Dare Forward
