What is the RAM 1500 Classic?

If you’re looking for a more affordable pickup truck, then you might want to consider the RAM 1500 Classic. If you’ve heard the term thrown around but weren’t sure what exactly it was, we’re here to fill you in on all the details. The RAM 1500 Classic continues the legacy of the previous RAM 1500 iteration, letting fans of the old version of the pickup truck continue to have an option if they aren’t ready to upgrade to the new model. Along with that, the RAM 1500 Classic is only available in two options, though both are quite affordable and offer something different than the main 2023 RAM 1500.

Available Trim Levels

As mentioned, there are only two trim levels in which the RAM 1500 Classic is available. The base trim level is the Tradesman, which is the most affordable truck in its class. Its MSRP starts at $30,695 and moves up from there with added features and options. The second option is the Warlock, which has a base MSRP of $41,985 as it adds more standard content and features to the mix.

The RAM 1500 Classic comes standard with a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine capable of generating up to 305 horsepower alongside 269 pound-feet of torque. You can, instead, opt for the more powerful 5.7L HEMI V8 engine, which boosts power output to 395 hp and 410 lb-ft. of torque. When equipped with the latter, the 1500 Classic is capable of towing a maximum of 10,620 pounds. Its maximum payload is 1,930 pounds, which is achieved in the 4×2 Quad Cab with the 6’4” bed and V6 engine.

While you won’t see the same array of features and technologies found in the regular RAM 1500, the Classic offers plenty of smart and intuitive features to help you whether you’re driving for work or play. The truck features a 7” digital cluster along with an 8.4” Uconnect display audio system. Features like voice control, Keyless Enter ‘n Go, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enhance the convenience and connectivity of the vehicle.
