FCA Will Offer Jeep Plug-In Hybrid
Introducing the Jeep Plug-In Hybrid
The Jeep brand recently unveiled Plug-In Hybrid versions of its Jeep Compass Trailhawk AWD and Jeep Renegade Crossover in Geneva.
While these are for the European market, it got us thinking about the efficiency of the plug-in hybrid concept.
What are the Benefits of Driving a Plug-In Hybrid?
Plug-in Hybrid vehicles are hybrid electric vehicles (electric + gas) that are able to be plugged in and charged.
Benefits include
Convenience. Since you’re able to run your car off electricity or gas (or even both on the same trip, in some instances)
A lighter wallet. When gas prices skyrocket, you can lean on your plug-in hybrid’s electric function.
Going green. By putting fewer emissions out into the air.
Added juice. Thanks to energy-boosting features like regenerative braking.
Plug-in hybrid and zero-emission vehicle
What is a zero emission vehicle? Is a plug-in hybrid a zero-emission vehicle?
A zero emission vehicle is one that puts out zero gas from its onboard power source.
Zero-emission vehicles include plug-in hybrids (e.g. ICE/electric battery) that are in electric mode.
