Last month, RAM finally unveiled its highly anticipated all-electric version of the iconic RAM 1500. The brand had been teasing and discussing introducing a fully electric pickup truck for quite some time, but now we have finally laid eyes on the production version of the model, which will be released as the 2025 RAM 1500 REV. While the release is a ways off, and thus not every single detail has been unveiled, we’ve gotten a huge glimpse into the vehicle and plenty of estimated figures have been announced. So, we thought we’d start by going over the electric pickup truck’s powertrain capabilities and more highlights.

RAM 1500 REV Electric Powertrain

The new RAM 1500 REV is not a half measure. It’s no hybrid or even plug-in hybrid, it’s a fully electric BEV. Its powertrain consists of a pair of 250 kW electric drive modules and one of two different battery pack options. In case you’re curious and unaware, an electric drive module combines an electric motor, gearbox and inverter into a single unit.

The two battery packs available include the standard 168-kWh option, which will deliver an estimated 350 miles of electric driving range. If you’d like even more range, however, you’ll be able to opt for a larger 229-kWh battery pack that is targeting an astounding range of 500 miles, which is unsurpassed on today’s market. In either case, thanks to 800-volt DC fast charging capabilities, you’ll be able to get up to 110 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging if you find a public charger capable of 350 kW.

Performance Specifications

While range and charging are two of the most crucial specifications to consider when shopping for an electric vehicle, performance is every bit as important. The electric powertrain of the RAM 1500 REV will be able to generate an impressive 654 horsepower alongside 620 pound-feet of torque, meaning it will deliver the performance and capabilities customers have come to expect from the RAM brand even on this new EV platform.

That kind of power means the truck will be able to haul up to 14,000 pounds through trailering and 2,700 pounds of payload alone. But even more astonishing, the pickup will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds.
