2023 Dodge Challenger Last Call Commemorative Packages

2023 Dodge Challenger Last Call in Plum Crazy Exterior Passenger Side Front Profile

The Dodge brand has established a reputation for building high-performance vehicles through its decades in the industry. Perhaps no vehicle the automaker has built has reached the heights of the Dodge Challenger, one of the most iconic muscle cars in American automobile history. Unfortunately, 2023 marks the end of an era, as both the Challenger and another icon, the Dodge Charger, are being discontinued in their current forms. While executives at the company have stated all-electric versions of the popular models are on the horizon, 2023 will be the final run for the gas-powered Challenger. With that in mind, engineers have designed a series of commemorative packages for the 2023 Dodge Challenger, which they’ve dubbed “Last Call” models.

Before we go into specific details about the different commemorative packages, there are a few pieces of information to go over that apply to all of them. Each Last Call model will feature an aluminum underhood plaque that features the vehicle’s silhouette, its locations of design and production and additional stamping. Furthermore, four iconic exterior color options from throughout the model’s history return to the whole lineup as available options. These four additional choices include Destroyer Gray, Plum Crazy, Sublime and B5 Blue.

Typically, models equipped with the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine feature a HEMI fender badge. This year, all Challenger R/T models – whether one of the commemorative packages or not – will replace this badge with a “345” badge to pay homage to the cubic inch designation of the iconic engine. You’ll also be able to black out SXT and GT RWD models with the Blacktop Special Edition package, which will turn this 345 badge all black too.

Black Ghost

The first of four 2023 Dodge Challenger Last Call models is the Black Ghost, which pays homage to a 1970 Dodge Challenger RT SE model that came to fame on Detroit’s Woodward Avenue back in the ‘70s, showing on the historic road to flex its 426-horsepower muscles before mysteriously disappearing for months at a time. It includes the following unique features:

  • Pitch Black Exterior Paint
  • Black Gator Skin Vinyl Roof
  • Bright “DODGE” Hood Badge
  • White Deck Lid Stripe
  • “Challenger” Script Grille, Fender and Spoiler Badges
  • Midnight Metallic “SRT®” Grille Badge
  • Bright Fuel Fill Door
  • Six-Piston Brembo Brake System with Black Calipers

  • Alcantara® Steering Wheel with Red LED “SRT®” Logo

Shakedown Special Edition

While this commemoration doesn’t go quite as far back, the Shakedown Special Edition pays tribute to a concept vehicle of the same name from the 2016 SEMA Show. The model features a black-and-red theme both inside and out, giving it a strange blend of modern and vintage aesthetics. It includes the following unique features:

  • Red “392” Fender Graphics and “Shakedown” Spoiler Graphic
  • “Shakedown” Stripe with Red Accent
  • Black “Challenger” Grille Badge
  • R/T Grille Badge (Black/Red on R/T Scat Pack, Black on R/T Scat Pack Widebody)

Swinger Special Edition

That brings us finally to the Swinger Special Edition, which is a commemorative package available on both the Challenger and Charger models. This package, also known as the Scat Pack Swinger package, pulls inspiration from the brand’s entire muscle car legacy, giving specific nods to “Swinger” models from the ‘60s and ‘70s, such as the Dodge Dart Swinger Scat Pack. It includes the following unique features:

  • Gold School “Challenger” Grille Badge
  • Gold School Painted SHAKER Hood Scoop
